Time sensitive survey
I hope you had a nice weekend...in advance of tomorrow's class, I would like to ask you to complete a quick online survey for a Writing Program project. This will relate to upcoming work, so I would greatly appreciate if you can complete it by tomorrow's class. Thanks so much!

Tuesday In-Class Exercise
As you know from class, a lot of today is about getting your rough draft written. You have the "building blocks" exercise to complete with your writing time; in addition, I would like you to post to the blog by 9 pm. Please respond to the following questions.
1. Which two pieces are you using for your essay?
2. Why did you choose these two?

The week ahead: a preview
As we are at the start of our third week, with a rough draft on the horizon, I wanted to take a moment to go over what we will cover this week, and the plan of action.
Both days this week have in-class independent work built into the schedule--I know we have a lot of writing to do in a short time frame, so wanted to set us up for thorough writing, and successful essays.
See you tomorrow!
For Tuesday: We will discuss the readings (see the link in the previous post), and summarize each; we will break down the major components of this specific kind of paper; we will discuss good ideas for introductions and conclusions; we will discuss two sample papers; you will complete a "building block" exercise independently, and then post a response to the blog.
For Thursday: Please bring two copies of your rough draft for workshop. In addition to workshop, we will complete an editing exercise to hone our skills a bit before diving in.

New Readings for Tuesday
As discussed in class, here are the remaining readings for our Compare/Contrast Unit. Please read them all for Tuesday, and write a (single) reading response.
Also, please print these and bring them (along with the previous two readings) to class on Tuesday.
And finally, please come to class with a general idea of which two essays you will focus on for your paper.
Thanks!
